That started my full time job at the Dual Diagnosis Addiction Recovery Clinic.
My usual day went like this, I’d roll out of bed at 9 or 10, take the 27 highway over to the coast, pass this sign,
Follow PCH up to the 27000 block, to this place,
Eat a free meal prepared by a gourmet chef, then take the kids to the beach to spin sticks, or go hiking, or play Lazer Tag, or Bowl, or hit the pool, or play basketball. In short, all the things I like to do anyway. I was getting paid to play.
Sometimes I managed the sober living house. The gate code was 3327. Seriously.
It was all happening just like the book said it would. Out of nowhere, with no training or certification I was the head Rec. Therapist at a 30,000 dollar a month clinic. I asked to get paid to play, and about three months later I had a job that gave me exactly that.
Perhaps even more importantly, along with the steady income, I also had an identity and a sense of self worth.
So the concepts of the LOA did actually work for me. Please hear that. Using the concepts I learned from them, I discovered that unbeknownst to me, I actually had something of value to offer the world.
Then I asked to get paid to play, and that's exactly what I got.
The clinic also gave me a chance to re-write and upgrade the Kung Flow system.
What was a purely kinetic performance accelerator, turned into something that would assist people in deep recovering from damage to the Pysche. Everyday was a rolling laboratory. The first kid who made it work was not surprisingly, a Kate. She was there that first day I came to the clinic.
Kate B is a hyper genius. We became fast friends. Her best friend at the clinic was named David. She inspired me with her ability to break down her addiction.
Quite a few kids managed to end their addictions with Kung Flow. This kid Austin came up with the best application. He was having a Heroin craving. The kind that makes you run away from Rehab in the middle of the night bad. He started analyzing the craving. He realized that it was just a thought, therefore made up of nothing but energy.
He had learned that his thoughts were made of energy. He started wondering what would happen if created a thought that was stronger than the craving. So he tried. Kung Flow had taught him how to write counter programming. He literally pushed the craving out of his body with his mind.
If that seems to easy, too good to be true, it's not.
Ending addiction is just a matter of upgrading broken software. If your mind and will are strong enough, you can override that virus. This is why technology is such a gift beyond texting. We now have a reference that allows us to comprehend the concept of addiction as a self-replicating mental virus.
Even better, we now all know enough about programming to be able to write ourselves an upgrade. Computers have given enough of us access to the kind of mental horsepower to be able to shift everything. Trust me on that one.
A bunch of kids beat horrendous addictions through the power of their minds. I'd like to go deeper into their stories, but I need to clear with them and the legal dept, as they are/were minors with confidentiality concerns. Some of those kids stories wove into the coincidence department pretty well though. I'm hoping to create a page where we can all reconnect, and let them share their stories firsthand. It'll be better that way.
I do recognize that I need to show you some real results of the efficacy of Kung Flow. So I've enlisted two people I met outside of the clinic. Two women who have manged to transcend life stories that would give you nightmares after just hearing them.
(Note, this is a temp patch until the media is brought in.)
This was Lisa
(photo of Lisa, extremely overweight)
(Bring in video of Lisa now, trim and shining and rocking).
Lisa testimonial- "When things went bad, I would eat for comfort. Then I started spinning the Bo staff and learned how to take charge of my mind. I realized that all the extra weight was just armor. It was a way to keep people away from me, and that food was a drug . I started taking care of myself. I dropped 170 pounds.
Things went really bad in 2007, I had 8 close friends commit suicide, I still managed to stay focused and keep the weight off. Ryan told me I would have the opportunity to inspire the millions of overweight housewives of America. I hope I am. Pick up a stick, give it a try. It works. If I can, you can."
Video transitions to Emma, a very pretty teen with multi-colored hair.
Hi, I'm Emma, but call me Spin. I'm 18 and I see the numbers 37 and 27 everywhere. The exit to get to my house off of the 118 is exit 27 and my home address is 3278. I’ve been using MindLighter to come to terms with my life. I’ve been raped several times. I would cut myself deeply to vent the pain.
(She shows the scars on her wrists. She’s not sad though. She wears them like medals of honor.)
I started learning how to spin. That taught me how to spin my mind.
"My home life was filled with addicts and dysfunction. Too many of my friends died young. Suicides and overdoses. I’ve been using the mental techniques to help me get past all that. Thanks to that and my fire spinning friends, I'm actually having the happiest years of my life.
I came from a household of drunks and smokers, addiction runs deep in my family lines. But I have so much positive energy now, I just use all that as fuel. And as an added bonus I now get paid to do what I love the most!"
(Emma is now getting straight A's in college, holding down a Job, and engaged to a great guy.)
-This is us together onstage at Knotts Berry farm, getting paid to play at an amusement park. Keep in mind, Spin used to be really afraid of fire.-
My little sister Rawks. just sayin'. There's a lot more to her story. Look for her book soon
